How do I get started with Focus IQ?

  1. Download the app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)

  2. Open the app and review the default task categories in the Setup tab

  3. Customize categories and tasks to match your workflow

  4. Go to the Time Entry tab and start logging your activities

  5. View your productivity insights in the Dashboard tab

Is my data stored in the cloud?

No. Focus IQ Manager stores all your data locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your time entries, tasks, or notes to any external servers. This ensures maximum privacy and works even without an internet connection. However, this also means you should regularly back up your device to prevent data loss.

What's the difference between Free and Pro versions?

Free Version:

  • Up to 50 time entries

  • Basic dashboard analytics

  • Custom categories and tasks

Pro Version:

  • Unlimited time entries

  • Advanced analytics and charts

  • Data export (Excel/CSV)

  • Priority support

  • No ads or limits

How do I upgrade to Pro?

  1. Open Focus IQ Manager

  2. Tap on "Settings" or "Upgrade to Pro"

  3. Choose your subscription plan (monthly or yearly)

  4. Complete the purchase through your App Store or Google Play account

  5. Pro features will be unlocked immediately

All subscriptions are managed through your device's app store and can be canceled at any time.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your device's app store:

iOS/iPadOS:

  1. Open Settings on your device

  2. Tap your name at the top

  3. Tap "Subscriptions"

  4. Find Focus IQ Manager and tap it

  5. Tap "Cancel Subscription"

Android:

  1. Open Google Play Store

  2. Tap Menu → Subscriptions

  3. Find Focus IQ Manager

  4. Tap "Cancel Subscription"

Can I export my time tracking data?

Yes! Pro users can export their data in Excel (.xlsx) or CSV format. To export:

  1. Go to the Dashboard tab

  2. Tap the export icon (or menu)

  3. Choose your format (Excel or CSV)

  4. Select date range or export all data

  5. Share or save the file to your preferred location

I lost my data after updating my phone. Can you recover it?

Unfortunately, because all data is stored locally on your device, we cannot recover lost data. To prevent data loss:

  • Regularly back up your device using iCloud (iOS) or Google Drive (Android)

  • Export your data periodically using the export feature (Pro version)

  • Keep your device updated and don't delete the app without backing up first

If you had device backups enabled, you may be able to restore your data by restoring your device from a backup.

How do I customize task categories?

  1. Go to the Setup tab

  2. In the "Task Categories" section, you can:

    • Add new categories with the "+" button

    • Edit existing categories by tapping them

    • Toggle categories active/inactive

    • Assign colors to categories for easier visualization

  3. In the "Task Templates" section:

    • Select a category

    • Add common tasks you perform in that category

    • These will appear as quick-select options when logging time

Troubleshooting

App crashes or freezes

Try these steps:

  • Close and restart the app

  • Restart your device

  • Check that you have the latest version installed

  • Ensure you have adequate storage space on your device

  • If the problem persists, email us at info@focusiqapp.com with your device model and iOS/Android version

Time not calculating correctly

Ensure:

  • Start time is before end time

  • Times are entered in the correct format

  • You're not crossing midnight (currently not supported - log as separate entries)

  • Time picker shows AM/PM correctly

Dashboard shows no data

Check:

  • That you've logged time entries in the Time Entry tab

  • The date/month/year filters are set correctly

  • Your entries have categories assigned

  • Try changing the filter dates to ensure data exists for that period

Can't find my subscription or Pro features

Verify:

  • You're using the same Apple ID or Google account used for purchase

  • The subscription is still active in your app store account

  • Try tapping "Restore Purchases" in the app settings

  • Payment went through successfully (check your app store receipt)

⚠️ Important Backup Reminder

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, we strongly recommend:

  • Enabling automatic device backups (iCloud or Google Drive)

  • Regularly exporting your data (Pro feature)

  • Not deleting the app without backing up first

We cannot recover lost data if your device is lost, damaged, or the app is deleted without a backup
